How Do Baseball Cards Fare During a Recession?
A few bits of qualitative and quantitative evidence

During this post-pandemic era, we’ve all been subject to a) rampant inflation and b) daily doom and gloom about a looming recession (not to mention raging debates about whether we’re in, or about to enter, said recession).
All of that economic turmoil has led to all sorts of analyses about what’s going on and prognostications about what lies ahead. If we can pull ourselves out of the angst it all generates for a few minutes, some of this number-crunching and Nostradamusing can be pretty interesting.
So, I thought it might be a good time, as we enter the final month of 2022, to take a look at what heavy-duty inflation and a recession might mean for the sports card market on the other side.
