When we met in this space last month, we saw Victor Wembanyama crash the boards at the top of the basketball market. Not only did Wemby push into the rare air usually reserved for the likes of Michael, Kobe, and LeBron, he actually surpassed a couple of them in our “standings.”

So, would the Spurs’ big rookie keep that trend rolling in March as the second half of the NBA season barreled along? Well, Wemby kept doing what he does on the court, leading all comers in blocks by about a full swat per game as I write this. A 40/20 performance on March 29 didn’t hurt, either.
