Last month, we saw pre-rookie Connor Bedard drop out of our list of most expensive hockey cards sold on eBay during September 2023 after a hype spike after the Blackhawks took him with the #1 overall pick.

And, with the regular season still waiting for summer to finish up, old standby Wayne Gretzky took the top spot by a wide margin.

So, would the start of the new season in October change either one of those trends as fall got into full swing?
