Last month, we saw Connor Bedard and Wayne Gretzky rule the top of the hockey card market despite the fact that Connor McDavid had his Edmonton Oilers in the hunt for a Stanley Cup title.

Since then, McDavid and his teammates fell in seven games to the Florida Panthers, but the man himself still won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the NHL playoffs.
