Last month, we saw Walter Payton shoot to the number-one spot on our list of the most expensive football cards sold on eBay. Sweetness managed “just” two appearances on the overall list, but that top spot (the card sold for nearly $42,000) was mighty impressive for a guy who’s been retired for more than 35 years.

At the top of our “standing” last month, Patrick Mahomes showed up more times than any other player, but with C.J. Stroud hot on his trail. With NFL training camps opening in July, would Payton be able to stay on our list?
