Last month, we saw the market start to respond to on-field action as the NFL swung into midseason form. Even so, old standby Tom Brady topped our “standings” of players with the most cards on the list of expensive football sales on eBay during September.

Patrick Mahomes was a somewhat distant second, while the rest of the leaderboard was filled in almost entirely with other current quarterbacks…plus John Elway and Jerry Rice.

With the pecking order among NFL teams starting to sort out in October, how would the market react to some of the “surprise” developments? You know, like the Commanders’ worst-to-first turnaround (so far) and the first-half struggles of 2023 contenders like the Raiders, Browns, and Bengals.
