Last month we saw the shine wear off Patrick Mahomes’ latest Super Bowl trophies in record time as the Big Game MVP dropped to third in our “standings” of players driving the high end of the football card market.

At the same time, offseason forces kicked in right away, too, with plenty of vintage cards and seldom-heard (these days) names to make us oldsters feel all weepy-eyed with nostalgia.

So, would April — draft month! — see a resurgence of youth, or would the old-timers make further inroads into the big-dollar market?
