Some "new" names melted the ice to end the year

When we looked at the top-selling hockey singles for November 2023 (in December), we saw that the first full month of the NHL season brought a somewhat surprising result.

In particular, while current stars, plus Wayne Gretzky (as usual), made strong showings, so did several other retired legends. Names like Howe, Lemieux, and Orr, and others stormed back onto our list after October’s market was completely dominated by today’s big names.

All of which left us to wonder, which way would the market go as 2023 came to a close?
