Last month, we saw a resurgence of sorts among vintage cards when it came to the most expensive pieces sold on eBay during September 2024.

To wit, among the names that showed up more than once on our monthly rundown of the top sellers were old favorites like Mario Lemieux, Howard Morenz, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, and (of course) Wayne Gretzky at the very top.

But with the NHL regular season starting in October, would on-ice action finally start to shape the market again after a long summer away? Or could the old cards hold onto their top spots for another month?
