Last month, in the aftermath of the Stanley Cup Finals and the NHL Draft, we saw a brand new name on our leaderboard of the top-selling hockey cards.

In particular, first overall draft pick Connor Bedard rocketed from nowhere to land just behind Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid, and ahead of Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin on the list of July’s top-sellers.

Would that new blood hold serve (to mix my sports metaphors) in August, or would Bedard have to wait until he can start proving himself on the NHL ice for his card prices to stabilize?
